What Candy is Made in USA?
Remember those little yellow peeps made out of marshmallow that kids got every Easter? Guess where they are made? Right here in the good ol’ USA. As a matter of fact, they are manufactured in Bethlehem, PA. The company is 87 years old and family owned by Russian immigrants. But, Peeps is not the only candy this American owned company makes.
Just Born started out with retailing candies and thrived throughout the years, even the great depression. Then they started acquiring other companies like Maillard Corp, who made yummy chocolates and bridge mixes among other goodies.
They bought a company called the Rodda Candy Company that made jelly beans and these little marshmallow peeps and we all know how popular they became. Mike and Ike’s, Hot Tamales and Teenee Beanee are all made from this fine American owned company. Have you tried a Zours lately? Just Born also makes them! How about Peanut Chews, one of my very favorites?
It’s no wonder they are exported all over the world and the good news is just think of how many people this keeps working on American soil? According to their website, they employ over 500 associates in Bethlehem and Philadelphia. They also opened a retail store in National Harbor, MD. I’m sure that gets a lot of business especially from tourists.
Lisa Guzzo, the customs relations manager confirmed that the company is indeed American-owned. She said they are proudly made in the USA. If you want to find a store near you, they do have a product finder available. Also, good news for job seekers, they even have a career page you may be interested in if you live in the Pennsylvania area of Bethlehem.

Not only does this American-owned company display career jobs, but they also have an internship program available in areas of manufacturing, sales, marketing, supply chains and lots of other stuff. Go to Just Born’s website to read more about this company that has been a stable part of our American economy for decades!
And, for Peep’s sake, go buy some all American Candy!
