Fatman’s Beef Jerkey

fat 300x236 Fatmans Beef Jerkey

Just like Hank Williams Jr sings, “It’s an American Tradition” you can say the same thing about beef jerky! But not just any old commercial beef jerky, I’m talking about gourmet meat jerky from a man who knows what he’s talking about!

In the cattle business most of his life, Rick Robey from Eastern New Mexico is an expert when it comes to beef. When I first inquired about this American company, I probably thought that this jerky would be just like all the rest, tasting like the same commercial jerky you can buy on the store shelf all over the world. Boy was I wrong!

I received a nice size package in the mail and started taste testing. Funny how even though my kids are grown, they suddenly appear when Mom has some goodies on the table! Believe me, we had a great time testing out Fatman’s Beef Jerky! Imagine a group of adults sitting around the table, laughing and chewing on and, I must say, grabbing the bags of the jerky we liked best out of someone else’s hand. You had to be there, but it was really fun.

Enough about us, now I have to tell you what I think of this gourmet product. There were so many different flavors that it took us a few days to actually taste every one of them. The original jerky had a mildly marinated flavor and without preservatives, I enjoyed the plain taste. Here is a list of some of the flavors:

Cowboy
– A robust smoke flavor.
Green Chile – with a green chile taste.
Red Chile - HOT with red crushed chile. I am not a fan of WOW hot, so this would be great for fans of HOT.
Salt & Pepper – This is my all time Favorite! It has a zesty and hearty flavor, a little salt to compliment the pepper. Loved this one!
Jalapeno Lime – was not hot like I thought it would be. It was a pleasant tasting jerky with a hint of lime. I liked it.
Lemon Pepper – Not a bad flavor, just a bit of lemon and some pepper to boot. Nice mixture.
Smoky Chipotle – This doesn’t sound hot at all but I found that it was too intense for me. Like I said, I’m not a fan of extreme hot and this had some very intense heat to it, so if you like that, get this!
Teriyaki – This isn’t bad either, you know how some teriyaki is just too much flavor? This has just a hint of the spice and then a bit of sweet to it. Nice flavors!
Barbecue - Another tasty jerky! This has the southern taste of bbq that you are familar with.

What I like about Rick & Ellen’s American made jerky is that diabetics can eat it without worry, those who are health concerned and others who are on a diet can incorporate it into their daily diet. The Robey’s keep all ingredients natural which is a big plus today and made with 100% All American Beef! That’s enough for me.

Rick says that he is not a great philosopher, but too many people before us have sacrificed and given too much not to buy American. So please, take a look at this honorable company!

Buy it in stores or go to fatmansbeefjerky.com to order right in your own home. You won’t regret it! I’d love to hear what you think so when you get your order, come back and let our readers know what you think.
